In the creation scene of the novel, victor’s pride finally transitions into regret of the horror he has unleashed upon the world. He finally realizes that everything thing he as worked for, for the past two years, although in good intentions, has been a serious mistake and infact an evil deed aginst humanity. Victor at first describes his creation right before its awakening as “beautiful,” and within moments changes his attitude toward the creation saying that he was filled with "breathless horror and disgust."
An aspect of this short passage about the "demons" creation that intrigued me was that it greatly contrasts all other social views about how the monster was created.  In movies and shows of this modern age, the creation scene is a long drawn out climactic scene, where Shelly has the actually moment of life be as short as one line in the novel saying, "I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs."  The book further contrasts modern thought by having the "monster," as a blank sponge that is capably of learning and becoming an extremely intelligent creature, while modern though views the monster of a mindless drone that fallows its masters orders without question.  It is these differences that makes this a literary work of art with a much deeper meaning behind it than to just entertain people and fill seats in a movie theater.
